These course are designed to help teach how to communicate effectively with D/deaf people using BSL (British Sign Language). Why training Young people in BSL is so important?
Many young people in their latter years of school will be considering careers within Health & Social Care or looking to work within the Special Educational Needs sector within Education.
BSL is an invaluable language to learn to enhance your skill set in preparation for the above areas of work. There are many career opportunities to work with D/deaf people using Sign Language, such as, Communication Support Professionals, Interpreters, Communication Support Workers, Note takers and Lip Speakers. In order to create a more diverse and inclusive society BSL is a key skill to help communicate effectively across a wider and more diverse range of people.
Deaf Awareness BSL Courses we Offer for People in Education
Accredited BSL101 (Young People) unit
Students can continue on to complete units BSL102 and BSL103 of the full Level 1 Award if desired.
